FMCG shopper marketing agency — grocery shopper choosing products in a supermarket aisle

FMCG Shopper Marketing Agency

By August 21st, 2026

Bamboo Marketing is an FMCG shopper marketing agency in Sydney. Since 2004 we’ve designed the promotions and in-store experiences that move fast-moving consumer goods off the shelf — in grocery, liquor and convenience, where the person buying often isn’t the person who’ll use the product, and the decision is made in seconds.

FMCG shopper marketing is its own discipline. A brand can be loved in the ad and still lose at the shelf, because the shopper’s question in the aisle isn’t “do I like this brand?” — it’s reward and belief over friction, calculated in about three seconds. Our job is to win that calculation.

What does an FMCG shopper marketing agency do?

It turns a brand’s commercial target into an in-store activity a supermarket will range and a shopper will act on: shopper strategy, promotional mechanic design (purchase-to-enter, cashback, gift-with-purchase, instant win), category and retailer planning, point-of-purchase and experiential activation, and the execution and fulfilment underneath. In FMCG the retailer is the other customer — nothing runs unless the category manager at Coles, Woolworths or Metcash will support it, which is why we design as much for the range review as for the shopper.

Built for the realities of grocery

Fast-moving categories have thin margins, crowded shelves and short attention. That rewards the One Job Rule — pick a single objective (trial, frequency, basket, data or loyalty) and design for it, rather than asking one promotion to do everything. It’s the difference between a campaign that looks busy and one that shifts units.

Work and credibility

We’ve built shopper and promotional campaigns for Suntory Oceania brands — V Energy, Boss Coffee and Maximus — as well as Weet-Bix, Cointreau and others across grocery, liquor and convenience. Our Maximus campaign won bronze at the Shop! ANZ Retail Marketing Awards. This is FMCG work, judged by FMCG results, not a logo wall.

Strategy through to the shelf — including the plumbing

Where Bamboo is unusual is that we don’t stop at the idea. The mechanics that make an FMCG promotion real — receipt validation, prize modelling and fulfilment, cashback payouts, permits and redemption reporting — run end to end through our sister company Trevor Services, a Salesforce-native fulfilment platform. Strategy and execution under one roof, so the mechanic we recommend is one we can actually deliver.

If you’re rethinking how your FMCG brand shows up at the shelf, we’d welcome that conversation.
