Bamboo Marketing is a brand activation agency in Sydney. Since 2004 we’ve designed activations that don’t just look good — they change what a shopper does next. There’s a difference between an activation people enjoy and one that sells, and closing that gap is the whole job.
Walk any supermarket and you can spot the activations before you read a word on them. The ones that work aren’t the prettiest — they’re the ones with a clear reason for the shopper to act, and a mechanic behind them that actually pays off.
What does a brand activation agency do?
It brings a brand to life at the point of decision — in-store activation and point-of-purchase, experiential and event design, sampling, and brand partnerships — and ties each to a commercial outcome rather than an impression count. Good activation starts with a question, not a build: what single job is this meant to do, and what will make the shopper stop, believe and buy?
Activation that clears the retailer, not just the shopper
An activation only happens if the retailer says yes. That means designing for the category manager as well as the shopper — simple to run, operationally sound, and good for the retailer’s sales, which is our S.O.S. framework for getting activations approved. A brilliant idea that’s a nightmare to execute in-store never makes it to the floor.
Work and credibility
We’ve activated brands including Suntory Oceania (V Energy, Boss Coffee, Maximus), Cointreau, Weet-Bix and Electrolux across grocery, liquor, convenience and mass retail. Our Cointreau campaign won bronze for experiential at the Shop! ANZ Retail Marketing Awards, and our Maximus campaign won bronze as well.
From idea to execution — and the mechanic underneath
When an activation carries a promotional mechanic — a competition, an instant win, a gift-with-purchase — the entry capture, prize fulfilment, permits and redemption run end to end through our sister company Trevor Services. You get the experience and the plumbing from one team, not a clever idea handed over with crossed fingers.
If you’re planning an activation that has to do more than look the part, we’d welcome that conversation.
